Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why buy from Murtiwala?

At Murtiwala, we are the original creators, not just suppliers. Our lineage of sculptors has been devoted to this sacred art for generations. According to the Vedas, “Yat pinde tat brahmande” (Whatever is in the universe is also in the body), signifying the divine connection in all creation. We believe a deity can only be realized when the sculptor envisions the divine through his eyes. This isn’t just a business for us; it’s our way of living, serving the devotees with devotion and craftsmanship passed down through the ages.

What materials do you use to make the idols and temples?

Our primary material is white marble from Makrana, Rajasthan, known for its purity and durability. We also work with other materials based on devotees’ preferences, including:

  • Red-stone from Bansi Paharpur, Bharatpur: Ideal for Hanuman Ji idols.
  • Black Marble from Bainslana, Jaipur: Used for Kali Mata Ji, Shivalingam, Bheru Ji, and Krishna Ji.
  • Specialty Range: We also offer idols in Bronze, Brass, Silicon, Fiber, and more.

Where are your idols and temples made?

We believe in keeping our manufacturing sites close to the natural roots of our art. Our workshops are located in Makrana, Bhaislana, Jaipur, and Alwar, ensuring the highest quality and authenticity in our creations.

Can you custom make a Moorti or Poojamandir?

Absolutely! Custom orders are our forte. Just contact us, and we will assign a customer relation manager to discuss your ideas and requirements in detail.

Can your marble idols or temples be easily cleaned?

Yes, our marble idols can be cleaned easily with a brush or soft cloth. If the idol is painted, the color may fade over 8-12 years but can be re-colored at a minimal cost. Stains from ghee, kesar, chandan, or kumkum should be cleaned immediately to prevent permanent marks.

How long does it usually take for a custom order for idols or mandirs?

If we have a matching stock item, delivery is immediate. For custom orders, the time frame is typically 15 to 30 days, depending on size, material, and intricacy.

How do you ship your products and how long does delivery take?

We use reliable courier services like FedEx and DHL. Standard delivery usually takes no more than 7 days. However the delays are possible due to unforeseen circumstances.

What happens if our shipment is damaged in transit?

We take utmost care in packaging, but if damage occurs during transit, we will replace the idol within a month, taking full responsibility.

Does the color and gold work on the idol turn black?

The colors we use may dull over time, and the 22k gold leaf can corrode like any natural gold item. Regular maintenance can help preserve the beauty of your idol.

Are there any duties and taxes on the import of your products?

Marble deities are exempt from GST, while temples, other figurines and art pieces attract an 18% GST. Generally, there are no import duties or extra taxes, but it’s advisable to check your country’s policies for any recent changes.
